Certified CranioSacral Therapy for Children and Young AdultsChildren and young adults face just as many stresses and challenges in their lives as adults, only with less autonomy and control over their environments and day to day lives. Craniosacral therapy can be incredibly beneficial for younger people. How can craniosacral therapy help my child? Improved sleep. Decrease in stress. Help in managing depression and anxiety. Trauma recovery. Balance and grounding so they can concentrate and feel more relaxed in themselves and the world around them. Children, kids, young adults experience the same benefits as adults do from craniosacral therapy.
I love working with kids, I am a mother myself. I serve each child respectfully and with conscious respect to their boundaries and provide for them options for autonomy and control of the appointment so they feel comfortable in the room with myself and the parent/guardian that are present. Our society still has a lot of room for improvement in how we treat children. Children and young adults face many stressful and traumatic experiences and are complex whole beings with fascinating stories to tell. They may be smaller than adults, but that does not mean they hold small issues in their tissues. They suffer from the same generational and societal traumas all us adults do. 30 minute appointments are available for children and young adults. Young adults or parents/guardians are welcomed to schedule the free 15 minute consultation appointments. If as a young adult you are close to 18 years of age, and know you could enjoy lying on a soft, comfy massage table for an hour, you could book a 60 minute appointment if you like. Younger children are not expected to stay still for a long period of time and they are welcome to bring a comfort item or a tablet or phone to play with during their time. Appointments are booked for 30 minutes, but that may mean we get 15 or 20 minutes of hands on time. That's ok. We will be flexible and accommodating. Even when there are times during the appointment when we are not working hands-on, we are still holding a therapeutic space for the child and provide opportunities for other expressions. During these appointments parent's presence are just as important as mine. This means the parent may hold the child's hands while I am also working. It could also mean the parent browses their phone on a chair next to the massage table. | ||
