Rest & Restore Protocol:
Returning the Body to Harmony

Our bodies are always playing a kind of internal symphony — the nervous system, organs, muscles, emotions, and thoughts all working together to create the tone  of our health. When life brings ongoing stress, that symphony can slip out of tune. Instead of thinking our way out of it, the body often needs bottom‑up support: gentle cues that help the system feel safe again.

The Rest and Restore Protocol acts like introducing a new, steady instrument into the orchestra. The music offers the body clear signals of safety and healthy homeostasis. As these cues settle in, the rest of the system begins to adjust, soften and reorganize itself.  The body remembers how to return to balance. As harmony is restored, people often notice less tension, better sleep and digestion, and a greater sense of emotional steadiness and resilience.
What is the Rest & Restore Protocol?

The Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP) is a listening‑based therapeutic approach designed to support the nervous system from the bottom up. The protocol consists of five hours of specially curated music, listened to in short sessions spaced at least two days apart. Because the sessions are cumulative and gradually increase in intensity, it often takes several weeks to complete the full protocol. Most people listen in the evening or at the end of the day, when the body is naturally ready to settle. The experience is intentionally quiet, still, and calming.

Listening is done through headphones using a music‑player app on your personal device. The five hours of music are completed on your own as a personal practice, at a pace that feels right for your system.

As a certified RRP practitioner, Janet Crow provides ongoing guidance throughout the process. She checks in regularly to monitor your experience, help you understand what you’re noticing, and adjust the pacing as needed. Together, you’ll create a plan for completing the protocol in a way that feels safe and supportive. Sections can be repeated, slowed down, or modified to ensure the best possible outcomes. Janet serves as your listening coach — offering steady, compassionate support as your system moves toward greater balance and ease.
What are the benefits?
As the body begins to receive steady cues of safety, the nervous system often softens out of its defensive patterns. People frequently describe feeling a little more grounded, a little more spacious, and a little more like themselves again. Over time, many notice:
  • Less physical tension
  • Improved sleep and deeper rest
  • Clearer thinking and better focus
  • More ease in digestion
  • A calmer emotional baseline
  • Greater resilience in the face of daily stress
These shifts tend to build gradually, as the system relearns how to return to balance from the bottom up.
Who is the Rest & Restore Protocol For?
RRP is a gentle, supportive option for anyone who feels stuck in patterns of stress, overwhelm, or chronic activation. It can be especially helpful for people who:
  • Feel “on edge” or easily overstimulated
  • Have trouble relaxing or settling their body
  • Experience burnout or emotional fatigue
  • Struggle with sleep or restfulness
  • Tend to live in their head and want to reconnect with their body
  • Have tried talk‑based approaches but still feel dysregulated
  • Are seeking a quiet, restorative practice that supports the nervous system directly
RRP meets you where you are. You don’t need to “try harder” or think your way into calm — the work begins in the body, and the mind follows.
